Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review: Worth the Hype?

If you're searching for a long-wearing foundation that can handle oily, sweaty skin without budging, the Estee Lauder Double Wear might be the one for you. After using this product for almost four months, I’m here to share my honest review on how it performs, its pros and cons, and whether it’s worth the price.

Product Details:

  • Shade: 1W2 Sand
  • Size: 30ml bottle
  • Price: Php 2950 for the foundation + Php 750 for the pump (sold separately)

First Impressions:

Right off the bat, I noticed that the packaging didn’t come with a pump. I had to purchase it separately, which was a bit of a letdown. For a high-end product like this, you would expect a more convenient packaging design.

That being said, I bought the pump, and once I started using the foundation, I realized why this product is so popular.

What I Love About Estee Lauder Double Wear:

  • Lightweight but Full Coverage: One of my favorite things about this foundation is how lightweight it feels despite offering full coverage. It covers imperfections like acne marks flawlessly without feeling cakey or heavy.

  • Long-Lasting: Even with my oily and sweaty skin, this foundation lasts the whole day. It doesn’t budge or wear off, even after a long day at work or when I’m out and about. No need for constant touch-ups!

After a long day, I still have my makeup on. I was in the grocery when I took this photo.
  • No Creasing: I was impressed that it doesn’t settle into fine lines or creases, even around areas like my smile lines.

I was about to go out when I took this photo. My acne and dark spots were covered.

  • Buildable Coverage: If I need a little extra coverage, I can build it up without worrying about it feeling too thick or looking too overdone.

  • Flawless Finish: I’ve received compliments on how flawless my skin looks, even when I have breakouts or acne scars. This foundation truly gives me that “your skin but better” effect.

  • Contains SPF 10: This is an added bonus for some sun protection, which is always a good thing. While it’s not enough to skip sunscreen, it’s a nice layer of extra defense against UV rays.

What I Don’t Like:

  • Drying on the Skin: If you don’t prep your skin properly, this foundation can emphasize dry patches. It tends to cling to dry areas, so it’s important to moisturize and prime well before application.

  • Chemical Scent: If you’re expecting an unscented product, this does have a slight chemical smell. It’s not overpowering, but it’s noticeable when first applied.

  • No Pump Included: As I mentioned earlier, the bottle doesn’t come with a pump, and buying it separately adds an extra cost. For a premium product, this feels like an unnecessary inconvenience.

My Verdict:

Overall, after using the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for almost four months, I can confidently say it’s worth the investment. Despite the minor downsides, it provides flawless, long-lasting coverage that holds up even on oily, sweaty skin. The compliments I’ve received about my skin looking good—even when I have acne—make it a winner in my book.

With gratitude and hope,

Micah
